After the Supreme Court had directed the government to grant women officers permanent commission and command postings in all services and combat in February, the Ministry of defence has issued a formal Government Sanction letter to Grant Permanent Commission (PC) to women. The order specifies the grant for PC to all the SSC women officers in the streams which they are presently serving. About 322 women officers had approached the supreme court on the issue of PC.
