The Central government is looking forward to bring in the Uniform Civil Code on the statute book under the theme of One Nation-One Law. Uniform Civil Code proposes to replace personal laws of citizens based on religion with a common set of laws that will be applied on all citizens irrespective of their religion. If this law can be implemented successfully, it can secure gender justice and eliminate the conflict with Right to equality. The supreme Court of India has also repeatedly asserted implementation of this Code as contained in Art- 44 of DPSP.
