This editorial discuss about the recent GDP figures which showed contraction of Indian economy , this article also raises concern about the employment situation in India because the sectors that create maximum jobs like construction, manufacturing etc are shrinking. It appreciates government efforts to launch “Garib Kalyan Rojgar Yojana” to provide jobs to rural youth , but states that this will not be enough, there is a need for reducing the vulnerability of Urban Informal jobs.
