The UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) was founded in 2004 to foster collaboration with and among cities that have recognised creativity as a key factor in long-term urban development. The 246 cities that now constitute this network work together to achieve a shared goal: putting creativity and culture industries at the centre of their local development plans while also engaging actively on a global scale. The UNESCO Creative Cities Network is a valued partner, serving as a forum for reflection on the relevance of creativity as a lever for sustainable development as well as a breeding ground for action and innovation, particularly for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Cities in India designated under UCCN – Varanasi, Jaipur, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Srinagar.
