Unenforceable right

There is a huge digital divide which exits in India. This digital divide denies numerous citizens their fundamental rights to information and education as guaranteed in the Constitution. Though recent statistics shows a huge increase in the number of wireless subscribers, services like e-commerce, financial transactions, online classrooms or e-governance requires internet access for which a computer or a smart phone is needed and not just a basic telecom service. Hence, digitally deprived people will no doubt get slipped by and become laggards in respect of health, education, etc., which in turn will manifest in anger, resentment and social turbulence.
