Taiwan is an independent state and has democratically elected government. However, Beijing says Taiwan is a part of China and tries to use unilateral military actions to change security status quo in the Taiwan Strait. This editorial highlights how in the recent past China shows its dominance over Taiwan. Simultaneously it also speaks about Taiwan’s relation with the US during the time of President George W Bush in 2001 and with current administration of President Trump.
