Theri Desert


Unique red sand desert can be found in Tamil Nadu’s Thoothukudi district in the Kuthiraimozhi Theri Reserved Forest. The dunes in the desert were created over a long period of time by the southwest monsoon winds depositing red sand transported from the Nanguneri region in the Tirunelveli district.
