
Last month, the Third India-U.S. 2+2 Ministrial Dialogue concluded between the Defence and Foreign Ministers of India and their US counterparts. The centerpiece of the dialogue was the signing of BECA for Geo-Spatial Cooperation. While there is no doubt that this agreement will take the military cooperation, information sharing, communication systems, defence trade and industrial issues to a whole new level, all these comes with a ‘price-tag’ which needs to be considered at the same time. This editorial discusses what signing BECA at this juncture means to India and how it will bring effect over the regional ties.
