The Personal Data Protection Bill was tabled in the Lok Sabha in December 2019 which has been referred to a Standing Committee for now. The bill was framed by Justice B.N.Srikrishna and has come as a result to the Right to Privacy verdict of the Supreme Court in Justice K.S.Puttasamy vs Union of India.
