In a war against Covid-19, Law enforcement is seen as next to health care in its criticality. The police has been given the task to ensure a strict lockdown while following observance guidelines like physical distancing. But as India is lifting its lockdown and there is still no vaccine for coronavirus, the police will have to device a new and comprehensive standard operating procedure which will educate the police to take care of future waves. The article also sheds light on the overall drop in crime and a rise in domestic violence. Given the change of nature of crimes it is upto law-enforcement officials to think of ways in dealing new challenges in maintaining law and order.
