After Yoshihide Suga took over Abe Shinzo as the new Prime Minister of Japan, he chose to visit Indonesia and Vietnam with the intentions of deepening ties with the two Southeast Asian nations. The visits must be observed from the perspective of geo-economics and geostrategy in the evolving scenario in the Indo-Pacific region.
