
A huge crisis has been created due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The government has implemented Disaster Management Act, 2005. The workers staring at starvation, and lack of basic facilities chose the option of walking back home. The government did take some measures to arrange the workers journey back home, but employers association have lobbied to prevent workers from leaving. Employers now want relaxation in labour laws. Many states have already scrapped a number of such labour laws, which has led to the re-introduction of ‘Laissez-Faire’ into the system. The article puts light on the demerits of the ‘Laissez-Faire’ system and the loss of dignity of the Labour.
