Relevance:
For long space programmes have been considered as symbols of national prestige of countries that are prepared to invest significant resources in pursuit of maintaining presence in outer space. Though the ISRO encourages private sector participation in space, the attitude is of that of the 20th century when governments regulated the space sector. It is the right time that reforms should be carried out in space sector so that it benefits can be reaped.
