Reasons for emotional and physical abuse against Indian women

In our society, it is always presumed that a male’s opinion is a cut above in any family decision since in most cases he is the sole breadwinner. Women’s voice against anything, on the other hand, are not paid much heed in almost all Indian lower, middle, or upper-middle-class families. And if after becoming financially independent, they tries to raise their voice, they are often abandoned, ridiculed, ill-reared or insulted for complaining or raising their voice.
