Protected areas are areas where human occupation or the exploitation of resources are least. IUCN has provided the definition for protected areas that has been widely accepted across regional and global frameworks. There are several kinds of protected areas which vary by level of protection depending on the laws of each country or the regulations of international organisation involved. Protected areas also include marine protected areas and might even be transboundary overlapping several countries.
