In India, in respect of COVID-19 cases, there has been a substantial decline in the number of persons being detected COVID positive. After reaching a peak of 90000 cases a day, the number has dipped to around 75000 cases a day over the last fortnight. According to ICMR, only 7% of the Indians had been exposed to the virus. Though the rate of test positivity has declined from 8.52% to 8.29% in last 10 day, the percentage is still far away from the safety barrier of less than 5% as suggested by WHO. At this juncture Finance Ministry officials are thinking of opening up educational institutions, public transports, malls etc. to end the disruptions the happened due to lockdown and restart the economy.
