Only a fraction of polluted river stretches may be clean by year end: report

National Green Tribunal (NGT) directed that by the end of March 2021, all cleaning measures should be commissioned. As per NGT orders, states fail to set up infrastructure for treating “100% of sewage generated” by the given time, then they would be slapped a fine of ₹10 lakh per incomplete sewage treatment plant (STP).
