Nuclear Energy

Nuclear Energy

Nuclear energy is generated by splitting atoms in a reactor to heat water into steam, which is then used to power a turbine and generate electricity. There are two modes of use of nuclear energy that is nuclear fission and nuclear fusion. Both the reactions release very high amounts of energy. Atom bomb and nuclear energy development programme of India are based on nuclear fission. Sun energy, hydrogen bomb and artificial Sun research (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor) are examples of nuclear fusion.
