
On October 6, the foreign ministers of Japan, India, the United States and Australia met in Tokyo to conclude the Quadrilateral dialogue. The motive of setting up the Quad was to keep critical sea routes in the Indo-Pacific out from any influence to create a shield that could thwart Chinese assertiveness for the four member countries. The scope of the Quad has widened as China’s relation with several countries including these four deteriorated since the outbreak of coronavirus pandemic.
