The article here describes the life of the migrant labourers. The article rightfully studies the pattern of migration, gender inequality, social aspects and economic aspects of these people and gives us the a realistic data about their lives and livelihood, and reasons of their migration. With the Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1979 failing to incorporate the welfare rights of the migrant labours, the article suggests certain steps and measurements for these ‘Footloose Workers’.
