The article highlights the problems and issues faced by pregnant women during the COVID-19 induced lockdown, where state health facilities were busy in treating the germ infected patient but in due coarse forgot about the women who were due with their childbirth, even though epidemic guideline have identified the pregnant women as people of being at ‘high-risk’. The article rightfully points out the number of inequalities that have arisen due to the pandemic and the role of the private sector in this time of crisis needs to be scrutinized for the betterment of the pregnant women. As the country is slowly emerging from the total lockdown phase to a longer management strategy, it is time to consider a different strategy for the betterment of maternal well-being.
