While China asked India on Thursday to hold “the larger picture” in mind and placed the border dispute in “an acceptable place,” New Delhi said that only complete restoration of peace and tranquillity on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) will enable bilateral ties to evolve. According to India, full disengagement and total restoration of the status quo until the transgressions in May remain far away. China and India have decided to pursue the substantial consensus achieved by the leaders of both countries and other related agreements, to continue dialogue and cooperation through military and diplomatic channels, to further ease and cool the border situation between China and India, to manage the remaining issues properly and to jointly safeguard peace and tranquillity in the border region.
