Jal Jeevan Mission is envisioned to provide potable drinking water to every rural household and public institution across India by 2024. The Centre intends to offer a Functional Home Tap Connection (FHTC) to every rural household in cooperation with the States and Union Territories (UTs). The government intends to create trustworthy drinking water sources or improve current sources as part of JJM in order to permanently deliver FHTC to every rural home.
