There are substantial reason why opposition to the agriculture Bills may be a reflection of the genuine concerns of farmers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi blamed the opposition parties in a virtual rally for misleading farmers about the three bills on agriculture: the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Bill, 2020, the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020, The Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Bill, 2020.
