The world is suffering from a pandemic which has affected all the sections of the society and all the sectors of the economy. The pandemic would need people to trust the scientists, the doctors, healthcare officials and most importantly each other. This is even true about countries and they need to trust each other and work in collaboration. But short-sighted politicians with irresponsible policies and populist approach have undermined faith in science, public authorities and international relations. Global superpowers have been brought down to their knees and organisations that would have helped in fighting the crisis have been put in restraints. And whatever steps that the global leaders have taken are piecemeal. There is clear void in leadership to deal with the crisis.
