Defence ministry out with new draft procurement policy

India joined the Indian Ocean Commission as an observer in March. With this, India is now looking forward to posting Navy Liasion Officers at the Regional Maritime Information Fusion Centre (RMIFC) in Madagascar and European maritime surveillance initiative in the strait of Hormuz for improved Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA).RMIFC functions under IOC which India became an observer along with Japan and the United Nations. IOC is a regional forum in the southwest India Ocean, comprising five nations-Comoros, France (Reunion), Madagascar, Mauritius, and Seychelles.
