India-Australia meet strengthens ties

After the virtual summit between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Australian counter part Scott Morrisson, India and Australia have raised their relationship to a “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership”. The two countries have also agreed on increasing the frequency of meetings between the two prime ministers and take the 2+2 format of bilateral meetings to the level of foreign and defence ministers. However there were no talks on China and Australia’s inclusion in Malabar and quadilateral maritime exercises.
