How safe are our children?

In the wake of nation-wide lockdowns, India Child Protection Fund reports a spike of 95% child pornography consumption in the country. Keywords like “teen sex videos”, “sexy child and “child porn” has been repeatedly used by the users. The Supreme Court has directed the government to devise guidelines in order to tackle the challenges in banning child pornography. In India there are currently two laws existing on child pornography – POSCO Act of 2012 and IT Act of 2000. This article is on child pornography, child sexual abuse and laws related to it.
