
The Centre announced on June 7 that over 50 per cent of rural households have access to tap water supply, just as the Modi government completes eight years in power. Under its Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), the Centre aims to provide safe drinking water through individual household tap connections to all households in rural India by 2024.
