Housing Ministry inks MoU with Swiggy to bring street vendors online

An MoU has been signed between The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) and online food-delivery platform – Swiggy. This initiative is a part of Prime Minister Street Vendor’s Atmanirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) scheme. It aims at providing more customer access to vendors. The programme will first start in five Indian cities before expanding across the country. In March 2020, the PM SVANidhi scheme had provided working capital loan to street vendors.
