
Minister of State in the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai, opined in the Lok Sabha that Indian Government has been successful in enfeebling the spread of Covid-19 pandemic through imposition of nation-wide lockdowns. However, six retired bureaucrats made plea in the Apex Court expressing their concern over the Indian Government’s management of Covid crisis and its deleterious impact it has had on the fundamental rights of citizens. An independent inquiry against “gross mismanagement” of Covid crisis in India have been sought by these bureaucrats under the Commissions of inquiry Act, 1952.
