Expert committee to review charter of DRDO labs

A five-member advisory committee is set up to examine the code of duties for all Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) laboratories with an emphasis on indigenous production of innovative military technology. The committee is created by Dr G. Satheesh Reddy, Director, Department of Defense Research and Development (DDR&D), who is also the Chairman, DRDO. The committee’s key purpose is to analyze and evaluate the charter of duties of all the DRDO laboratories, to redefine the charter of duties of the laboratories on the present and future security and battlefield scenario, and to reduce the overlap of technology. The committee has to submit its report within 45 days.
