The 8000km coastline in the east and west of India is vulnerable to to tropical cyclones. Tropical cyclones are usually more intense both in intensity and numbers post-monsoon. However, what is troubling is that summer cyclones have become frequent such as Cyclone Fani in 2019 and Cyclone Amphan in 2020. While India has come a long way since the Odisha supercyclone of 1999, however much needs to be done.
