Centre to set up National Recruitment Agency to conduct common test for government jobs

The central government has approved the creation of a National Recruitment Agency (NRA) for conducting a Common Eligibility Test (CET) for various government exams. As of now, 3 agencies are included in the NRA. Gradually all Central government agencies will be brought under the NRA. The preliminary exams will be conducted by NRA on an online basis, and candidates would then apply to their choice of agency for the next round of examination. As of now, 12 languages are selected to begin with and further attempts are being made to include all languages included in the 8th schedule of the Constitution. In future state governments and private entities can also use the facility for recruitment.
