Amid the pandemic, the BRICS nations have demonstrated comparative strength as providers of humantarian assistance. BRICS countries now need to pool and coordinate efforts in partnership with WHO, and Europe and North America to deal with the pandemic and its effects. BRICS nations will have to reactivate existing disaster response mechanisms, and earmark resources and assets to combat a whole range of natural disasters, with special attention towards the emerging economies and the global south.
