The Supreme Court had given the verdict to grant Permanent Commission to women officers in the Army in February. Likewise, the government has also given formal general sanction letter (GSL) to grant PC to the women officers. Henceforth the army headquarters is setting up a special selection board for screening such women for grant of PC. Women officers who had joined through WSES and SSCw are being considered for this.
