After COVID-19, India’s next challenge could be mega-sized locust attack this summer

A locust storm is expected to hit the Indian subcontinent. This can prove disastrous as the world is already suffering from the COVID-19 pandemic and food security is the top priority. One square kilometre of locust swarm contains close to 40 million insects which consume food equivalent to food consumed by 35000 people per day.
