The lost voice of the Indian university

The article describes the rise and the glorious history of Indian universities and institutions and their contribution to the national movement, the post-British era, and the late 20th century. The article also highlights and criticizes the change in the regime of universities from 2005 after the constitution of the National Knowledge Commission, after which a strong tilt towards privatization of education has been made by the administration of the country, which undermined the deliberative and independent character of these institutions of higher education.
