68% of under-5 deaths in India due to child, maternal malnutrition

With the collaborative efforts of ICMR, the Public Health Foundation of India, the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation, and a number of other key stakeholders, two papers have been published in Lancet and EClinical Medicine. These papers have highlighted the district level trends of child mortality and have detailed the trends of child-growth failure in the country. It has also pointed out the rising inequality between districts within many states.
